Mark Brodie

MARK BRODIE

Founder, Managing Member and Co-Owner

Mark Brodie is Founder, Managing Member and Co-Owner of GTM. Since founding the company in 2006, Mr. Brodie has overseen the company’s phenomenal growth, including its affiliation with Deshler Group. Under his leadership, GTM has become an internationally-recognized global transportation and logistics company, offering award-winning, expertly-tailored shipping for customers around the world.

Mr. Brodie’s three decades of transportation and logistics experience include director-level positions at large global sales and branch operations, including Agility Logistics, Bax Global, and UTI, Inc. Throughout his career, he has pioneered profitable new services and has successfully managed many sizeable international logistics operations.

Mr. Brodie studied business and general studies at New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico and at Wayne State University in Detroit. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business degree and a Supply Chain Management Certificate from the University of Phoenix.

Robert Gruschow

ROBERT GRUSCHOW

Co-Owner and
Managing Member

Robert Gruschow is Co-Owner and Managing Member of GTM. He is also President of Deshler Group, which unites seven brands to produce comprehensive services in manufacturing, assembly, supply chain management, transportation, packaging, warehousing, and information technology.

Throughout his career, Mr. Gruschow has formed successful partnerships and developed innovative solutions for customers, including automakers, suppliers, and other companies. As part of GTM, he leverages his experience and expertise to forge lasting alliances with logistics partners around the world.

Mr. Gruschow holds a bachelor’s degree from Albion College and a master’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He also studied architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design and semiconductor manufacturing at Central New Mexico Community College.

Mike Unsworth

MIKE UNSWORTH

Senior Director – International Branch Operations

Mike Unsworth serves as GTM’s Senior Director – International Branch Operations. Fully licensed for 38 years as a customs broker, Mr. Unsworth oversees GTM’s comprehensive customs clearance services. He works directly with the US Customs and Border Control (CBP) on behalf of GTM customers and supervises the company’s customs brokerage professionals.

In Mr. Unsworth’s thirty years of logistics experience, he has worked as a branch manager at JAS Forwarding and JOKER logistics and served as an import supervisor, customs manager and branch manager at Agility. He has coordinated TSA security, obtained C-TPAT status, and implemented a container freight station and bonded warehouse in the Port of Detroit.

Mr. Unsworth has a bachelor’s degree in business, with a focus on international business, from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Carol Hardy

CAROL HARDY

Director of Export Operations

Carol Hardy is Director of GTM’s Export Operations. Ms. Hardy manages GTM’s ocean and air import and export services, arranging all aspects of freight shipments, including project cargo, quotations, TSA and FMC regulatory compliance and client retention. She works directly with customers to ensure their needs are met throughout every step of the shipping process.

For more than 35 years, Ms. Hardy has worked in positions of increasing responsibility for several well-known freight forwarding and logistics companies. From her start at John V. Carr, one of Detroit’s original customs brokers, she has worked at Mainfreight, DHL Express and DHL Global Forwarding, and Kmart. She served as export manager at DB Schenker and branch manager at the former PBB USA now Livingston International, responsible for tunnel, bridge and airport operations. After several years at Yusen Logistics in Atlanta as Ocean Import Manager maintaining several major accounts, Ms. Hardy returned to Michigan and began her leadership of GTM’s export services.

Born and raised in Livonia, Michigan, Ms. Hardy studied Special Education at Eastern Michigan University.

CHAD GASKEY

OPERATIONS MANAGER, GTM NORTH CAROLINA

Chad Gaskey serves as Operations Manager for GTM North Carolina. Mr. Gaskey oversees all aspects of GTM’s daily operations in their Lexington regional headquarters. He manages staff and equipment maintenance and oversees the company’s growing fleet of OTR and day cab trucks.
For more than two decades, Mr. Gaskey has worked in the transportation industry, the third generation of his family to do so. He has experience in both LTL and FTL operations and spent several years working with Southeastern Freight Lines in positions of increasing responsibility, including as a Regional Process Improvement Specialist, an Operations Manager and a Terminal Manager. He has also worked as a Regional Operations Manager at Red Classic and as a Transportation Manager for HD Supply and CORT Furniture.
Mr. Gaskey has a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from UNC Charlotte. In addition, he has worked as a cartographer and completed post-baccalaureate work in Geographic Information Science.
